CAPITAL, Status Capital

पूंजी के प्रकार सामान्य रूप से निम्नलिखित प्रकार की पूंजी से पहचान की जाती है;

* पद पूंजी

1.सामाजिक पूंजी
2.बौद्धिक पूंजी

Capital ; Anything that gives its owner VALUE or Advantage.

It confers VALUE or benefit to its owner. Capital is value but value of a peculiar type- self-expanding value.It helps in improving and developing the future of the individual.

It is the KEY to the functioning of any unit. ( Individual, family, community, society or Nation)

It is used mostly providing or producing or acquiring resources for Consumption, comfort and convenience etc.

It is accessible and useable whenever required.

KINDS OF CAPITAL: Following  kinds of capitals are identified in general;

* Status Capital ( पद  पूंजी )

1.Social Capital ( सामाजिक पूंजी)

2.Intellectual Capital ( बौद्धिक पूंजी )

3.Financial Capital ( आर्थिक पूंजी)

4.Material Capital ( भौतिक पूंजी )

5.Spiritual Capital (आधियात्मिक पूंजी)     )

There is so much literature on this subject that it is difficult  to even summarize here . I will try to explain the aspects of above mentioned different kinds of capital in context of SPIRITUAL CAPITAL : All other capitals earned and accumulated through out life , are left here at the time of our final departure from this world, only SPIRITUAL Capital goes with us.

STATUS CAPITAL: Status capital is something which is normally inherited by only some special people born in Royal and Influential families- Kings, Emperors, Governors, Ministers, Head of the States, Religious Heads, Priests, Community Heads ( Chiefs in Nigeria and other countries in Africa ) , Politicians, Executives and administrators, Only a few persons  enjoy this capital through a slow process of normal career.

Status Capital is so powerful that with its influence, potential and authority , it can help to earn  or develop all other types of capitals; People enjoying this capital can even help others to develop any other kind of capital.

Everyone wants to have unlimited capital of any kind but status capital is very special. The three main desires of human beings are; Desire of son, Desire of Wealth and Desire of Fame ( having power and authority).For most people two are fulfilled but the third one is never ending .

The instruments of  capturing  are destructive ;war, politics, diplomacy, militancy etc.

PERSONS meeting who felt eerily familiar : An interesting episode

I was living and working in Nigeria; Living on the University of Ibadan Campus in a two bed rooms apartment.
There, once ,I met Prof. S.P.Jain, who came there as an external examiner of Anatomy students of UI Medical College. Prof, Jain was the teacher of our  very good family friend , Dr. Swarup who was a faculty in the Department of Anatomy , I knew Prof Jain through him only  ). Prof. Jain was a wonderful personality ( MS (Surgery, MS ( Anatomy ) and MD etc.) , later we enjoyed his pleasant and affectionate company in Ethiopia also while I was working with Addis Ababa University.
Prof. Jain was staying in the Univerisity Guest House for this visit.
Kr. Jitendra Singh, a teacher of Physics was a very good friend , teaching in some school in Ibadan. He used to visit us almost on daily basis. Before coming to Nigeria, he has been teaching in Ethiopia. Perhaps Prof. Jain was also teaching in some medical college in Ethiopia when K J.Singh was over there. They used to meet occasionally over there, so they knew each other. Prof. Jain by his personal traits is very simple, disciplined, pleasant and social person.
I mentioned to KJ Singh that I am going to meet Prof Jain in the guest house , knowing about him, he told that he knows him very well from Ethiopia and he would also like to meet him. He accompanied me to the guest house . KJSingh introduced himself as very well known person to him from Ethiopia. Without giving any thought Prof Jain asked his welfare , about his children and many normal questions as he knew him personaaly and treated him very well.
Next day, I visited Prof  Jain again , then he asked me that who was the person KJ Singh , who came alongwith you? I was surprised about it and asked him that you talked to him in such way that you knew him personally and so well. He very simply and humbly replied that I have to act that way if a gentleman has come to visit me and introducing himself as very well known to him. He has to reciprocate in the same manner. He really could not recollect  anything about KJ Singh.
It looked to me an interesting episode of dramatization , communicating with an unknown person as a very well known person in a very normal way.
Later in Ethiopia when I was in close contact with Prof Jain, I knew many of his personal traits especially as a perfect communicator. He must be a very good teacher of his medical students  but I learnt very useful aspects of Social communication  and as how to develop social capital.

Stonewalling2

There is another kind of stonewalling where an individual is supposed to act but does not act; supposed to react but does not react; should express but does not express; should advise or give opinion but does not do; That means  that what an individual must do but does not do intentionally.
This kind of erratic social behaviour of an individual makes him to loose the trust of the community, group or the family in which he lives. Individual can not establish a good and effective social network. It deprives the individual to develop Social Capital and later Spiritual Capital. An individual is unable to develop some good Traits: Social and Spiritual especially EMPATHY.

SOCIAL CAPITAL

SOCIAL CAPITAL though a new concept but has been practiced in India from ancient times. SOCIAL CAPITAL is built on the basis of mutual trust, faith, interest, share and care. It even helps building the MATERIAL CAPITAL and FINANCIAL CAPITAL directly or indirectly and finally SPIRITUAL CAPITAL. It provides you great personal satisfaction and contentment. Its success depends upon the strength of your social networks. You may have several networks , social network of your friends and relatives; professional network of professionals ( most useful now for job prospects and career advancement and many other beneficial aspects of life etc.); Intellectual and spiritual networks of mentors and spiritual gurus. Once developed, these groups/networks go on increasing , providing you more and more benefits from interconnected networks. Accordingly your Social Capital goes on growing and its balance never goes down. It leads you for mental stability and hence an opportunity to gain the knowledge required to understand others and finally and more to SELF. It helps us to build up our SPIRITUAL CAPITAL - the ultimate resource to go with us at the time of our final departure from the world, leaving other capitals and resources back here itself. Depending upon the success and strength, partially, Social Capital may also go with you to be with you in the next birth.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
People come together to form the groups or networks ( also known as cooperative societies or clubs etc. best example are found in Gujarat for all kinds of networks and their visible success all over the world for Gujarati community); INFORMATION has become the most important and main resource  for the success and strength of all these networks. We all know the potential of information especially now living in the information society; and that ICT- Information Communication Technology has given the boost  for sharing the information locally and very widely around the globe and establishing even larger social networks and hence providing opportunity for building more and more Social Capital.

SHARADH

SHRAADDH
Shraaddh have begun from yesterday.( September 12, 2011; MONDAY)

Shraaddh is a kind of memorial ceremony to remember the Dead Ancestors. It goes up to three generations of both parental sides (father and mother's side) . Shraaddh continue for 16 days from the Poornimaa of Bhaadrapad up to Amaavasyaa of Aashwin month ( the whole dark fortnight of Aashwin month ) . This Amaavasyaa is thus called Pitri Samokinee Amaavasyaa. This Amaavasyaa has one more characteristic that if one forgets to perform Shraaddh on a prescribed day ( the date of the death of the ancestor) then he can perform it on this last day.

It is as much a son's duty to perform Shraaddh of his parents and grandparents, as he is supposed to look after them while they are alive. In most cases, it is performed by the eldest son but others my also participate.Thus this is Pitri Poojaa in a way and the method to perform it is prescribed in Shaastra. In our family, my grandfather used to do it in a grand way for his father by inviting Brahamins for Pooja and BHOJAN at the lunch time, not in the evening. Invitation to Brahamins for this ceremony was given only in the morning of the day of the ceremony while for other Poojas, it has to be in advance, some times even a few days earlier. It used to be a feast for other immediate members of the family. For other ancestors, it used to be only TARPAN (Remembrance of the ancestor with some token money and water; water is offered to the SUN while the money is donated to the Brahamins).

Note: 1. On the last day of Shraaddh - on Amaavasyaa day, final TARPAN is done for the forgotten ancestors and for others who are even unknown who may be expecting remembrance from their family but there is nobody to remember them.

2. Shraaddh for Nana and Nani (parents of the mother ) is done only when there is no son in that family to perform this Pooja and Tarpan; In my own case, I am supposed to do it for my Nani not for Nana as my Nana has the son and grandson etc. from his previous wife, but in case of Sameer, he and Shalabh are supposed to do it for their mother's parents as they don't have son to do it for them.

3. In my own case, as I lived abroad (Nigeria, Ethiopia, USA and Canada ) even in India in different regions of the country due to nature of my job, it was not conducive or possible for me to perform the rituals according to required norms, I used to do only TARPAN on the day of Amaavasyaa because I did not remember the exact Tithi /day of the death of my mother, Nani and other ancestors. I feel that this is the best way of performing this important ritual, but one must do it.

4. BACKGROUND of the ritual:

These are only my personal views and thoughts about it. In observe it main thing is to remember our ancestors at least once a year and do some charity work in their remembrance - like donating money, materials (clothes, and anything else) etc; meeting some social obligations, planting trees in their memory etc etc.Our ancestors do not come personally, directly and physically to accept these offerings but certainly acknowledge them indirectly in one way or the other.
As it is believed that the Soul lives with three different kind of bodies namely; PHYSICAL- the organic structure mainly composed of five elements-the earth, water, fire, air and ether with main function to perform physical activities; and this is very temporary for one life only in any living form (human beings, animals, birds etc .male, female etc.) After completing the life, it is destroyed by death.; SUBTLE BODY ( Sookshm Shareer) and CAUSAL BODY (Kaaran Shareer); these two bodies always remain with the soul and keep an account of their actions day to day and life to life. Depending upon the balance sheet (cumulative account of actions) of the previous lives (Praarabdh), the soul takes another Physical Body in any form in any specific place at some specific time. These two bodies wherever they are in any form are interconnected to other souls according to their relationships in previous lives in a very a complicated network. So, whenever we do anything in the names of the known bodies, they are accepted , acknowledged and appreciated and our accounts are readjusted accordingly.
Our FINANCIAL Capital, converted into SOCIAL Capital finally gets deposited into our SPIRITUAL Capital -the ultimate balance which goes with us after our death.
